People of a certain age might remember the Mars Disco at the corner of Paseo de Roxas and Pasay Road by the San Lorenzo gate.
The shuttered disco has since been demolished and on the property now stands a 30-room boutique hotel called Celeste.
Owned by the Sarabia family whose first hotel venture is the Boracay Tropics, Hotel Celeste plans to receive its first guests starting Oct. 1.
Introductory rates are on the high side, though—P7,000 a night for a deluxe room and P10,000 for a suite, breakfast included.
